Scoreboard

My Bricks VI scoreboard can now be seen here. (Be awed, people. Except the one person who actually just might really pop by and look, as he still happens to be 111 points ahead.)

Super Genius

A year and a half has passed since the previous entry. That was when I accomplished a major goal, solving the last remaining regular Bricks level (which happened to be Octo Vortex, in which I subsequently gained the record and then lost it again to an amazing score by Eckhard&Fabrice).

The next major goal was becoming a Super Genius in Bricks VI, thereby completing my full set of Super Genius titles in regular Bricks. I had to hurry with this one since if the normal three-year cycle is kept up (which of course is far from certain) Bricks VII will be here in a year, quite possibly killing any chance to get a full set of Super Genius titles.

I've worked on Bricks VI quite a lot these past couple of days, gaining 132 moves in 27 hours (mostly from my own level, Lemmings). In fact, Lemmings was the level I gained the decisive improvement from (11 moves at once, from 39989 to 40000 precisely). This is the second consecutive time Lemmings is the level helping me to a goal, since a few months ago it was my last red regular Bricks level to be turned blue. (Waiting for somebody to turn one of my blue levels red again...)

It's accomplished.

Octo Vortex has been solved!!!!!! Big SmileBig SmileBig Smile All the hard work pays off in the end. Big Smile I'm not about to quit Bricksing (i.e. living) just yet, though; there are too many things left to do. Opting Octo Vortex, to begin with. Wink Aim for this week: push Alan off the #1 spot on the individual list. Big SmileBig SmileBig SmileBig Smile

Tero Pitkämäki becomes World Champion!

Yesterday, in the 11th IAAF Athletics World Championships at Osaka, Japan, Finland's eight years' no-gold streak ended as Tero Pitkämäki emerged as a national hero in men's javelin throw competition. As a salute to this phenomenal achievement six Bricks levels were designed by me. Anyone interested in playing them can contact me.

1. Tero Pitkämäki  90.33
2. Andreas Thorkildsen  88.61
3. Breaux Greer  86.21

For anyone interested...

I have uploaded two levels that I decided not to send in for Bricks VI, you can find the zip here. I haven't played them much so it shouldn't be hard to beat my records Big Smile

No, this site hasn't died.

Bnnqil Ytjim is back up and running after my busy time. Seventh month of Eckhard's Keyboard comp is available, starring CD-player (D), Chicane (C) and Stilted Five (5). Good luck to all players. Congratulations to all new Bricks VI record holders, especially Eckhard and Fabrice for their stunning performance. Let this week's Boris be a warning to them though, should they be eyeing more of my records Wink Additionally, all chess addicts around now have a daily puzzle to solve (courtesy of ChessGames), Monday puzzles being the easiest of the week, getting harder over days until we get at the insanely difficult Sunday puzzles! Warning: just finding the right first move doesn't mean you have solved it Shades

Good summer for everyone, and have fun!

Keyboard Carnival!

So the third part of Eckhard's Keyboard comp is finished with and I still emerged victorious Big Smile The levels of the fourth part look interesting, but not quite my type...  Zero Hero (0), Paradox (P) and Tea for Two (T) join together to make the Keyboard Carnival. Happy playing!

Another Keyboard competition!

Another part of Keyboard is just one click away! I didn't take part in the bonus comp, being first too buzy with B6 and then totally lacking motivation to play Bricks, a logical result of playing too much Schnappi. This month's Keyboard "R&B" ends with Mar 14, 2007. Good luck for all players, and have fun! Big Smile
